We are now Part of GREEN SALON COLLECTIVE.

Say NO! to landfill.

We have partnered with green salon collective who are a planet conscious company that are finding new ways to recycle salon waste.

We ask that all our clients pay £1 contribution towards the Recycling of their hair. This fee will be automatically added to the service for colour and haircuts.

We are now recycling all metal- Colour tubes and foil as well as hair from each haircut. Aluminium that we use to foil and colour hair cannot be recycled with normal recycling from the counsel due to colour deposits and the nature of the salon. So Green salon Collective have come up with a way to recycle colour tubes and foil. Metal is recycled into new items and also supports charities like Food cycle and haircuts for homeless.

If you'd like to find out how green salon collective are supporting salons please visit their website- greensaloncollective.com

They have found 10 ways to recycle hair.

  1. Composting and gardening- Hair is rich in nitrogen which plants love. You can take you hair cuttings with you and use in your plants.

  2. Waterway cleanups- Hair absorbs! They are made into mats and items that can be used for oil spills.

  3. Hair mats- Hair is made into mats that can be used to cover storm drains and clean up waterways.

  4. Regenerative biomanufactoring- hair is being combined with organic material to create partical boards.

  5. Wool alternatives- Collaborating with Natureal Fibre co in Cornish woolen mill. 40:60 blend of salon hair waste for compost wool.

  6. Hair rope making- Workshops invite people to explore hair rope making for individual purposes.

  7. Hair felt- Potting felt for plants

  8. Architecture- still in early stages of renewable materials within building.
